Welcome to Hummingbird Hollow Cabin!

This tiny (about 250 sq feet) eco cabin is nestled in the hills and hollows of Meigs County Ohio on 6.6 secluded acres of mostly wooded land on a private, dead end gravel lane.  A superb place to bird watch, identify native plants and trees, and stargaze as the cabin is located in one of the darkest places in Ohio.

Our doors opened in September 2020 with the intention of creating a simple, yet functional and secluded space for individuals, couples, and groups to come together and enjoy the serenity of nature's beauty.

We are one of Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals.  You of course do not have to be naked during your visit, but it is a safe place to explore the naturist lifestyle if you've ever been curious!

We're located about 25 minutes south of Athens, Ohio and are within 30 minutes of  some of the best hiking in the state.

You will find all you need for a simple and comfortable stay in the cabin.  It can comfortably sleep 1-4 adults, probably most comfortably 1-2.  There is one queen sized bed in a loft (one must be able to assemble and climb a ladder to access the loft) and a twin sized futon.

The kitchen has all you need to prepare meals including a dorm sized fridge and freezer, hot plate, microwave, toaster oven, gas grill (this is outside), crockpot, pots and pans, tea kettle, french press, utensils, mixing bowls, a wide variety of spices, plates, bowls, and cutlery.  There is also coffee, tea, and hot chocolate stocked for your stay.

There is a small indoor bathroom with hot water, a shower, and flushing toilet.  Please note, there is no bathroom door as the space would not allow it.  We ask that guests do not flush toilet paper during their stay and dispose of used toilet paper in the lined waste bin in the bathroom.

There is a small bookshelf with lots of great reading, coloring books, and a bluetooth speaker for your use.  Make sure you have your playlists downloaded as you may not have enough reception to stream music.  There is a charging cord in the cabin that has several dongles to fit most phone types.  There are two yoga mats available for use.

We are a WiFi free zone.  Cell phone reception is generally pretty good, 1-2 bars typically in and around the cabin but this cabin is a place is intended for you to disconnect from screens and be in the present moment.

Pets (dogs under 65 lbs, adventure cats, and other pets) are welcome to join you for your stay with an additional fee.

The cabin is situated on 6.6 mostly wooded acres.  You are welcome to explore the woods.  Do be careful, there are ticks and mosquitos.  There is bug spray in the cabin available for your use.  We plan to develop trails and walking paths over time, but for now there are just a few naturally grassy areas to walk through.

Please note that guest parking is by the gate and grassy area near the entrance of the property.  It is about 50 yards from the gate to the cabin up a steep hill.  Keep this in mind as you are packing for your visit.

There is heat in the cabin but it works slowly and typically takes 20-30 minutes to fully warm the entire cabin.  There are lots of blankets around the cabin but do make sure you bring layers and cozy socks for your visit if you are staying during cool weather.

There is no AC, but the cabin stays cool even in the middle of summer as it is shaded by trees.

We would love to help you personalize your stay!  Add ons including fresh squeezed juices, simple prepared meals or snacks, fresh flowers, and almost anything else can likely be added on to your stay.  Please contact us before booking to arrange!

We are available for your event bookings; family gatherings, weddings, camping events, retreats, workshops, and so much more!  Please use the contact button at the bottom of the page to send an inquiry!
